Last day for written notice of the time and place for conducting the ballot placement lottery shall be given when two or more petitions are received simultaneously for the same office and party or nonpartisan candidates: (a) as of the opening hour of the filing period, October 21, 2024; and/or (b) within the last hour of the filing period, October 28, 2024. (There must be seven days’ notice given. If the lottery is to be held on the last statutory date, November 6, the last day to give notice is October 30.) Notice shall be given by the State Board of Elections or the election authority to the chair of each political party and to each organization of citizens within the election jurisdiction 4 entitled to have pollwatchers present at the last election. Notice must also be posted.
