What is the F4F Situation Room?

The F4F Situation Room is the confidential starting point for community members to share concerns, report issues, submit documents, request assistance, or bring attention to matters affecting Freeport and the surrounding area.

Every concern begins with a conversation. Whether you're facing a problem in your neighborhood, have information about government or public safety, believe something isn't right, or simply don't know where to turn, the F4F Situation Room exists to ensure your voice is heard.

Every submission is personally reviewed with care and professionalism.

What does the Situation Room do?

The Situation Room serves as Fighting4Freeport's community intake and review center.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

• Listen to your concerns and answer questions.

• Review documents, photos, videos, or other information you provide.

• Research and verify the facts surrounding your situation.

• Connect related reports from other members of the community.

• Highlight issues through investigative reporting.

• Help educate the public on matters of community importance.

• Submit Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests when appropriate.

• Ask questions that others may not be asking.

• Bring attention to issues affecting the people of Freeport and surrounding communities.

Every situation is unique. While not every submission results in a published investigation, every submission is taken seriously and carefully considered.

What the Situation Room does not do

To ensure we remain an independent and responsible investigative and political organization, there are some things the Situation Room cannot do.

We do not:

• Provide legal advice or legal representation.

• Replace law enforcement or emergency services.

• Guarantee that every submission will become a published story.

• Publish allegations without first attempting to verify the facts.

• Accept anonymous rumors as evidence.

• Take sides in personal disputes without credible supporting information.

• Share confidential information without permission unless required by law.

Our commitment is to pursue the truth through fairness, accuracy, verification, and responsible journalism.

Does Fighting4Freeport charge for its help?

No. Never.

If Fighting4Freeport decides to assist with your situation, conduct research, investigate an issue, review documents, expose wrongdoing, or help bring attention to a matter affecting the public interest, there is never a charge for our assistance.

We believe that every member of our community deserves access to accountability, transparency, and someone willing to listen—regardless of their financial situation.

Our investigations, guidance, research, community advocacy, and accountability efforts are made possible through the personal financial support of Fighting4Freeport Chairman Joshua T. Atkinson and the generosity of donors who share our commitment to Transparency, Integrity, and Accountability in local government.

While Fighting4Freeport offers optional Insider memberships and accepts donations to help sustain our mission, our decision to help someone is never based on their ability to pay.
